Hi, my name is Jasmine. I am the photographer behind the lens. My love for photography began at age 10, when I picked up a disposable camera and coaxed my sisters into playful portrait sessions down by the creek. From that first spark, I continued to be fascinated with cameras and the art of capturing images. In high school, I explored film photography and darkroom developing, and over time I expanded into digital and underwater photography, blending technical skill with artistic intuition.
As a visual artist—painting, illustrating, and creating fine art—I bring a painter’s eye to every photograph. I’m drawn to vibrant colors, unique angles, thoughtful composition- always seeking to capture more than an image—a feeling, a mood, a fleeting moment in time. Whether it’s the play of light across a scene, the energy of a person in motion, or the subtle beauty of everyday life, my work strives to capture an essence.
I shoot a variety of subjects: portraits, lifestyle, underwater, products, botanical design, travel, spaces, and locations. I’ve also developed a special niche photographing visual artists—both in action as they create and documenting their finished artwork in high resolution for prints, social media, and professional portfolios.
With a background in dance instruction and communications, I have a natural knack for guiding people through poses and movement during sessions and helping them to feel comfortable. Originally traveling and shooting across the U.S., I’m now based in O'ahu and love to work on location or anywhere in the world. The heart behind the name Sunriize is the inspired concept of new beginnings- the dawn of a new day.
